Reset All Filters

A common feedback we get from users is that they'd like to have a single reset button for filters. We'd love a 'master' reset button, or a reset widget that, through actions, could be connected to multiple other widgets (such as filters, lists, etc).

Why we want this: You can obviously create a pretty expansive filter widget with multiple queries and have then, under "Advanced Tools", toggle on "Reset all filters".

However, we often build apps for clients who are new in general to GIS and geospatial concepts; when setting up ways for our clients to query a given dataset, we find that using a combination of the Accordion widget with filters grouped into themes provides an easier to use and easier to understand experience.

It's helpful for a beginner to have prescribed steps (ie, filter by state, then by land use, then by building type). The accordion widget lets us combine text instructions, images and a filter widget into a clear guide and step. However, we end up with multiple filter widgets, with multiple reset buttons. Having to go back to each step to reset that particular step's filter is tedious and can be confusing, especially if they've built up a fairly complex query across multiple filters, and they've toggled an Accordion step closed.

Image shows a sample app we've built where a single "Reset" button would be incredibly useful.

This feature would be great!

Hmm. I was hoping that you could do this with a button widget, but it appears that those can't connect to filter widgets?

A clear all filters, period button would be great.

@AlfredBaldenweck agreed!

Just wanted to note that as a workaround, you can set up a button widget and set it to the ExpB app URL. It's an inelegant, glitchy solution that can work, except you may have other app attributes reset as well that will annoy users, and if you have splash screens, users will have those pop up again unless you added the option to not have the splash screen appear again, and users remembered to click that off.
