Hide Restricted Layers from Experience Builder Widgets

When an Experience Builder app is shared with multiple groups that have different access to layers in the same web map, Experience Builder should consistently hide any layers the current user cannot access.

For example, if Group A and Group B use the same app:

  • Individual layers behave correctly in the Map Layers widget—only users with permission can see them.
  • However, if restricted layers are inside a group layer, users who don't have access to those layers can still see the group layer name in the Map Layers widget, even though the group is empty.
  • In widgets such as Filter, Query, and the Table widget, users can still see the names of restricted layers with a red ! indicating they don't have access.

Experience Builder should fully respect layer permissions across all widgets by hiding inaccessible layers and automatically hiding any group layer that contains no visible layers for the current user. Each user should only see the layers they are authorized to access, resulting in a cleaner, less confusing, and more secure experience.
