The Attribute Table widget allows to "customize". Not really.
I choose "use layer settings", with layer-defined formatting. Great, Iooks good. But I don't want the layer-defined attribute order. I'd also like to hide a field, maybe two. Not possible.
I choose "customize". I can now reorder fields; I can turn off a field. Perfect, I'm nearly there. But it also turns off the layer-defined attribute formatting. Now I have undesired thousand separators in my integers and hours in my dates. I can't do anything to those no longer formatted fields, so turning on "customize" doesn't get me a win. Nor can I turn them back on, yet still keep my reordered or hidden field. Nuts.
"Customize" would imply that I have the option to modify table components separately.
Preferred: allow me to independently choose to turn these options on/off for a CUSTOM-designed experience. The first two we can already do as separate actions when in "customize" mode. How about adding the flexibility to have the third as a separate option, too?
- Reorder fields
- Hide fields
- toggle layer-defined formatting on/off
