The need to reorder the fields for the Attribute Table widget has me choose "customize" under Content > Sheet Configuration> Customize Fields.
Choosing "customize" forced an ID number field and the date fields to lose their format. The ID now has a thousands separator, and the dates have an hour in their data format. Examples below.
Alas, "customize" doesn't mean customize format -- I cannot click on the fields to modify these settings. I can only turn them on or off, and reorder them.
Conversely, if I choose "use layer settings", they look as they should. However the fields are not in a useful sequence, nor can I reorder them.
I'm wondering what's the point of losing attribute field formatting in "customize" mode if there is no way to then modify them? It would be grand to have the option to maintain the attribute field format. Particularly since I have the option to reorder the fields or not.
Or is there some other way to get the field formatting back?
thx

I don't believe there's any way to customize the formatting but I would suggest making this an Idea because I think a lot of people (myself included) would vote it up!

thanks for the suggestion.

Hi @AnitaB,
Since the ArcGIS Online June 2025 release, the field format is honored when using the "Customize" mode. Please have a try and let me know if you see any issues. Please note that the date/time format is still not working as expected (not honoring settings from web maps), but we're working on it.
