The Screening tool and functionality within WebApp Builder is a core functionality used within our organization's apps.  User rely on it to make informed business decisions and the report summary is great for including in an application or file.

Without this tool or similar functionality within Experience Builder, it is currently preventing us from migrating to the Experience Builder apps.  I'm afraid that without the tool and functionality, many users will abandon the apps.  Please consider adding this tool and asap because I would love to migrate to our apps to Experience Builder and take advantage of group layers!

Hi all -

Is there any update on this?

"We are planning to publish migrating workflow of Screening widget in Near Me in early May, keep an an eye on the community posts for the blog"

Thanks

This is incredibly frustrating. I have to pause yet another project because the full functionality of one of the most valuable tools is not there. At this stage of the game we may not migrate until absolutely required... like everything no longer works required. Its bad enough the the other main tools we use (Grid Reference Graphic, Emergency Response Guide, and the Threat Analysis) are in the "Not planned" category.

I'm coming here to see if ESRI made any progress on this.

I accidently clicked "save" to my existing Web Builder App which has the Screening tool, it stopped working. Beware!!! Wish this widget is implemented in Experience Builder before phase out Web App Builder.

Print to pdf in a report format in Screening is critical for us to migrate!!!

We’ve also relied heavily on the Screening tool in Web AppBuilder for quick reports and spatial analysis summaries. Its absence in Experience Builder is a real barrier to migration for our team. While the Near Me widget offers partial functionality, we still need true reporting features. Phonexa helped us bridge some data gaps in the meantime, but native support would be ideal.

My organization relies on the print out of conflicts that this widget produces automatically for all the selected layers. I had to make some changes on my map and when i went to update the widget, the system would not allow me to push ok to update the changes to the widget. The tool has also stopped working.

Any update (Nov 2025) on ESRI's progress in replicating the Screening tool in Experience Builder? We use this widget for a lot of Webapp applications and need it to be a part of EB before we migrate. Without being able to export the output into some sort of PDF report with the map itself is a real problem for us. The Near Me widget, as it currently stands, just isn't sufficient.

@Jon_Tait @This has been replaced with the NearMe widget. Below is a link to a blog that may help you out. You can even created a custom print layout in Pro to be used as a print template for the Near Me report. Although I’m not crazy with how that process works or the results so I just use the default.

Yes, it was replaced with quite possibly the most painfully cumbersome workflow anyone could have come up with. You have to slog through a pile of manual steps: first, build a custom print layout layer by layer, then publish it as a tool. After that, you’re forced to configure the Near Me widget and re-add Analysis for every single layer, again and again, always selecting the proximity option. Then you add the Print widget—only to repeat the entire configuration process yet again just to make it match the Near Me output with your published report.

And after all that exhausting, repetitive setup, the application still doesn’t work because the Near Me widget is riddled with bugs. So, realistically, there is no proper replacement yet. It’s incredibly disappointing.

BUG-000163744: Near Me very slow with polygons

BUG-000172264: Near Me spins forever when Map Service layers are included in analysis (it might be fixed for AGOL, but ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 still have it).

I tested the Experience Builder DE v1.19 and doesn't have that problem. The Near Me widget is able to run the proximity analysis with 52 layers (mix of Map and Feature Services). However, the custom template report doesn't work properly when called from the Print widget. I end up working with the default print service which doesn't allow you to change how the field names are going to be printed in the report, but at least I can generate a report. Hopefully Esri fixes all those issues.
