What's new in Near Me (October 2023)

The Near Me widget is now out of beta in ArcGIS Experience Builder. We have added some great enhancements in Near Me in this update, including some functional parities with Near Me Web AppBuilder widget, performance improvement, widget communications and many more. We also restructure the configuration experience for greater usability and better user experience.

Note: Since we introduced many changes in the widget, your older app that has Near Me beta version configured, will not work anymore, instead it shows a blank screen with a message, saying “Analysis is not configured for layers in this map” (Screenshot below). As a result, you will need to reconfigure the analyses again to leverage the latest functionalities in the Near Me widget.

Summary of the key enhancements in October update

Restructured configuration experience
Improved configuration performance has been improved by adding confirmation buttons so the builder interface does not update with any insignificant changes in the configuration.
The selected feature from the pop-up can be used as an input location in Near Me widget from data action menu.
Added option to hide sketch tools and/or search distance settings.
Show only selected layer results to remove background noise so clear pattern can be identified.
Select multiple features to create search area using the select tool in the map.
Emit message actions to other widgets.
Create output data source for other widgets to use as data input.
Many other small enhancements and bug fixes.
