While upgrading ArcGIS Server 10.5 to 10.6.1 I get this error: *Upgrade step 2 of 2 : Failed. Refresh auto-deployed services during upgrade.*  The server/site is not getting configured and I had to restore the server from a snapshot backup. Has anyone else had this issue?  My setup on this particular server is ArcGIS Server 10.5 and Web Adaptor 10.5.  arcgisserver

I'm going to necro this post because I had the same issue on Server 2022, upgrading from 11.3 to 11.5.

My default browser was Chrome and I was getting the error.  Clearing cache and restarting the server didn't help.

I opened the link in Edge (native version to Server 2022) and it ran with no issue and completed the upgrade.

I'm now able to access the manager in both Chrome and Edge.

Funny because I was getting this issue in Edge, swapped to Chrome and only then did the upgrade work.  Strange.

@RoySanderfur  and @valenj88 : can you confirm that after the upgrade to 11.5 you both see the DynamicMappingHost  service in the System folder in ArcGIS Server Manager? And that the GeoAnalyticsTools service is NOT present anymore in the System folder? I also switched to another browser after facing this error and it LOOKED like the upgrade of the system services continued and ArcGIS Server was upgraded correctly. However, when comparing with other 11.5 deployments that didn't face this error while upgrading, it became clear to us that the System services are not ok at all. I'm talking now about DynamicMappingHost & GeoAnalyticsTools, but there are more differences. So really curious what  you guys see.

I do see the DynamicMappingHost service in the System folder.

I do not see the GeoAnalyticsTools service.

Everything is working just fine for us since the upgrade though.  Feel free to DM me if you'd like me to check on other things in our environment.

Thanks for your feedback @valenj88 . Then it seems indeed that for your situation, a switch of the browser did the trick. For us it does not work unfortunately and Esri inc support has no clue so far
