We have a Web Application that we run Bus Routes on for our Health Department, then we export the stop data from the attribute table into a .csv. Then the individual routes are distributed to our drivers by paper.
The Health Dept just invested in GPS units - Garmin Drivesmart 61.
Is there any way to take those Routes that we create on the Web Application, and sync them in the GPS Units per driver? (we typically run multiple routes).
Any direction on this would be great - no pun intended.
Hey there,
I took a look at the GPS in question, and was not able to find a way to sync these routes onto the GPS's. Theoretically, you could load them onto the GPS using Garmin's software and some shapefiles (source: did something similar with handheld Garmin's back in college) but I'm not sure if this is supported with this particular unit. If they support the standard NMEA outputs, you could have the GPS running in Tracker (or Field apps) to show where the user is within the ArcGIS suite of products. I'm just not sure if there is any interplay between ArcGIS and Garmin at this time. Hope this helps!
