I routinely have to make global edits to a point feature class in ArcSDE representing water meters for a midsize utility. I typically use a script or Field Calculator on ArcMap to perform these edits on Desktop. However it takes forever to go through thousands of records and make the change, then forever again to save edits.
Please Help Me!!! Is there any way to make these tasks run using the processor on the server? I just have no idea where I would even start. Thank you.
Have you thought about running a procedure/job directly in your RDBMS?
