Good morning everyone,
In my company I use enterprise 11.1
Is it possible to limit a web map to a specific geographical area? Preventing users from leaving the area.
Don't just limit the zoom, limit the extent. And that these extension limits are transferred to the boards or any other application that we generate with that web map.
You can set a navigation extent in certain apps, but to my knowledge, you cannot do this in the Map Viewer.
Just like Josh says above I can't say for sure if Map Viewer allows that that kind of filter. I just wanted to add a note about map service capability in case that help you or someone who lands on this post in the future.
Map service allows you to set spatial filter and clipping. If you want you can have a SOI that will set the filter on the server side (or in your Map Viewer using the Custom Parameters) that will limit drawing within that extent... basically users won't see anything outside of the spatial filter you set. Also with SOI, you can set different filters based on user account.
