Is OpenJDK Platform Binary anything to do with Enterprise. I don't recall seeing this at all before upgrading to 11.3 the other day. It is just eating up a ton of resources.

Yes, 11.3 has this running from the ArcGIS Portal file folders along with the Tomcat webserver.

We are running into the same issue. Have you figured anything out? We have an active support case going now.

We just had to bump up the memory on the machine.

Having a similar issue where the OpenJDK Platform Binary process spikes the cpu and ArcGIS Server Manager will not load. Restarting the ArcGIS Server service brings the cpu load down and things start working again. Have you gotten any response from esri you can share?

Are you pretty sure that the date of the increase in resource consumption aligns with the date of the upgrade?  We also noticed the same after 11.3, but in our case the increase only occurred after a recent Windows OS patch was deployed. In other words, a combination of the two changes.

Thanks @ErikEhlert! I looked at the timing of updates and the issue started the day after the October Cumulative update. I uninstalled the update so we'll see how it responds.

If that Windows update causes an issue, I would log a support case and have the analyst investigate.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to assist our community.
My name is Khalid and working as GIS Manager in Saudi Arabia.

Open JDK binary (java.exe) as we know that it is the open-source version of the Java Development Kit.
JAVE EXE is running when not necessary. Most likely some Java application is still running through the installed OpenJDK and keeping those (and probably more) files open. Close all instances of Java applications.

These days most Java Virtual Machines are OpenJDK, Microsoft has one: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/java/openjdk/download and generally speaking it makes sense to download the latest version. I think the Microsoft version is a bit more efficient and secure than the Oracle version.

So somewhere on your machine is a .jar file that is being run that that is causing the CPU usage. If you aren't running something like JOSM.jar then it shouldn't appear in task manager. Because it runs on practically anything then it's a good target for Malware, bitcoin mining etc. so I'd search your hard drives for suspicious .jar files and rename them before deleting.
