Hello There, Our multi machine ArcGIS Enterprise at version 10.8.1 includes: Portal Server, GIS/Hosting Server, Image Server on Windows Servers. Our IT dept has requested to disable SMBv1 on Portal machine (to start with) and eventually on other GIS servers machines. I am trying to figure out impact of this change. Here is what I was able to find so far:
As per this post, ArcGIS Server installation has some dependency on SMBv1, SMBv2 or both. We don’t need to install ArcGIS Server and in case we need to reinstall, we can work around this limitation by enabling and the do the install and finally disabling.
Our setup uses local drives for config store as well as directories for each GIS server/Portal, except the Cache directory that uses network share. Some network share locations are registered as part of datastore for raster data management. Is there an impact on this once SMBv1 protocol is disabled on the server?
What are other impacts are there that we need to be aware of?
Appreciate your input.
Thanks
A GIS should be fine to use a file share as a cache store even if it is locked down to SMBv3.
