Has anyone come up with an idea to store the passwords in the role.json securely so it's not plain text? Also the node json file seems to contain the password in plain text (maybe even logs also...?). I was wondering if extending Chef with encrypted Databags could be beneficial? However we are not using Chef server, only Chef-solo.
Any ideas and experience to encrypt passwords in Chef you could share?
