Hi Esri,
Our team recently launched our ArcGIS Hub open data site and we're currently in the process of launching an internal Portal Site.
In the building of the Portal site we noticed that Portal Sites is generations behind ArcGIS Hub. We were wondering if Portal Sites will be comparable to ArcGIS Hub when Portal 10.7 is released?
In addition we were wondering if the Portal Sites team has thought about a way to send out updates to keep Portal sites running with the same functionalities as ArcGIS Hub? This would be incredibly useful for administrators all around to manage both these platforms without facing discrepancies in the available functionalities.
We would be more than happy to discuss this further is someone from your team would like to reach out.
Thanks,
Three Rivers Park District
10.7 closes the gap to the functionality that is in Hub. Because the Hub is released weekly it will always lead Enterprise Sites. There are also 3 sub-systems in Hub that do not yet exist in Enterprise that will take a future release to add.
A full list of functionality included with 10.7 will be made available shortly! Happy to answer any other specific questions
Graham,
When is ESRI planning on releasing download support for anonymous users in Enterprise Sites? This is a pretty critical function for organizations that have IT policies that wont let them use AGOL/Hub.
we are considering a workaround / patch for 10.7.1 which will involve you having to create a download item for each of the items on your site (the fix will tie these cached downloads to the download button for anonymous users if they are shared anonymously).
I will follow-up here if we are successful testing such a workaround and release a patch to 10.7.1.
The full robust download support is on the platform's roadmap with no committed release at this time.
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the patch. Have a number of customers eager to use Enterprise Sites and this missing functionality is a real challenge.
