Legends and Dynamic Text are not really related. Can you describe what you are trying to achieve in more detail, please?

Just trying to come up with a way to have multiple line legend text without having to type the text in every time in the description.

Legend Description is part of a layer's properties. If you save the layer to a layer file (.lyr), whenever you re-use the lyr, the legend description will be there. You wont have to re-type it.

Is there a way to get dynamic "Date" text in the Legend Title Properties?  Basically I want the top of the legend to say, "Legend" and then have dynamic date text just beneath it.  I tried adding the normal dynamic text into the legend properties like so...

Legend
<dyn type="date" format="short"/>

This didn't work, so as of now I'm just using a separate text element, but it would be nice to have the two integrated.
