Whenever I log in to our Portal site, a popup message is displayed at the bottom of the screen saying: "Unable to find the location sharing service: "

I believe that there is an older Field Maps or Survey123 or app in the Portal that was originally created when we had Location Sharing enabled.  That's not the case now, and we have no need to enable it in this Portal.  Is there a way to track down which map or app is trying to access this non-existent location sharing service?  I would like to edit it or remove it from the Portal.

Thanks

Hi @JustinJ_DTS

Does the error only appear when you access specific pages within your Portal, such as the Organization settings page?

If Location Sharing is no longer required, have you completely disabled it, not just paused it? Disabling it should remove all associated items, layers, views, and groups. Note that only the administrator who enabled Location Sharing can disable it as per Esri documentation.

You can also check the configured 'Location Tracking Service' in the ArcGIS Portal Directory, which should help you track down the service's associated Portal item ID if it still exists. To do this:

  1. Go to the ArcGIS Portal Directory - e.g. https://portal.domain.com/portal/sharing/rest
  2. Login with Administrator credentials
  3. Navigate to Home > Portals > Self > Update
  4. Check the service URL for the Location Tracking Service field
