Hi all,
I am trying to create custom line type in ArcMap 10.0. I have a set of line types I use in autocad and want to use the same kind in arcview. My process is to create an .emf file from autocad and try to use that as a picture in arcview, but when I'm in arcview
and I try to select that emf from the line properties, it doesn't show. I've tried several approaches, but when I'm in layout view in arcview, and I insert the emf (as a picture) it fills up the whole layout.
I think there must be some type of scale that we can't modify in arcview, b/c I've tried several sizes in autocad and it's still the same size.

TIA,

Randy

I just wanted to update this thread.

I played around with exporting from CAD to emf file types. You can export from paper space and use 1.0 scale. When you import the picture in layout view in GIS you will need to scale it again. I don't know why the scales aren't similar.

For linetypes it's basically the same thing. I'm trying to create custom linetypes thru fonts, but I'm having a tough time of it.

thanks all,
