Hosted Feature layer - creating a joins that updates

Hello,

I have published a feature layer and a related inspection table. I need to base the layer's symbology based on a field in the related inspection table. To create a join in portal I need the layers to be "hosted" and not published it seems. I only know a little about hosted feature layers.

I thought about publishing a joined feature layer that I created in Pro, but I don't want to alter my original layer nor create a new layer on the server. Creating a join in Portal would work so that I don't have to bother with the server. However, it appears I need a hosted feature layer in Portal to create a joined layer that is updated when new inspections are submitted.

Any ideas are welcome. If I have to do the work in Pro, I will, but I rather have a solution already in Portal if possible.

Thank you.

If your features and inspections are published from an Enterprise Geodatabase, you can just create a View Layer with the join in place, then publish that separately.

As far as I know, you can't do that directly from Portal.

Thank you for the quick response! I suppose that is what I will have to do.
