Hi
I have a shapefile with municipality bounderies with several attributes. I would like to overlay a quadrat grid (240 by 240) on top of the shapefile.

Then I would need to attach the attributes of the municipality, to each of the grid intersections that are inside each municipality.

thank you very much for your help

Miguel

You can give a try to this two step approach:
1. Use Intersect tool on your grid lines to extract intersection points.
2. Use Spatial Join tool to extract values from municipality polygons to intersection points.

Thank,

I did not explain myself. I do need to create the quadrat grid (240 by 240) first. How can I do that?

There's the Fishnet tool.... Create Fishnet

Then there's something called 'Grids and Graticules'...this one I really haven't used much at all, creates a layer?
