Portal Management Should Be Done At ArcGIS Pro Level Not Earth

Portal connections should be managed in the main ArcGIS Pro application for all other Esri applications.  It does not make sense to add ArcGIS Portal connections in Pro, and then turn around and add the same connections in ArcGIS Earth.  Earth should just list portals that have already been added in Pro.  This would help tie in software that is otherwise very non-integrated with the rest of the ArcGIS desktop suite.

Hi @EricEagle ,

Thanks for sharing the great idea !

I appreciate your suggestions for improving the integration of portal management between ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Earth.

Currently, as you noted, portal connections need to be managed separately.  ArcGIS Earth is a lighter application facing to general public,  so the portal management is not by default interconnected to other applications.

As a workaround, did you have a chance to try  ArcGIS Earth administrator configuration ?

Parameter 'portals' from https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-earth/use/admin-config.htm

Please check how to manage configuration here:
https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-earth/use/manage-config-file.htm

We also have logged your suggestion to our internal system,  and will work on better user experience design.

Thanks again and do not hesitate to connect us if you have any further questions.

Sharon
