Hi, a client is asking if we can use the option file to exclude requests from "older" arcgis desktop clients?

His problem is colleagues are installing older versions, and he want to deny a license if the license requests are older than say 10.5.1.

Pal,

There is no option to exclude licenses based on desktop version.  The ArcGIS License Manager was design to be backward compatible.  Is this just because the admin prefers colleagues to install a newer version or is there a another particular reason?

Thanks for reaching out Amnoy Am‌

I do not know all the reasons, but a heavy mix of desktop-versions might of course give a number of challenges (not that constantly updating is without hazzle..). I guess they will have to search elsewhere for solutions (like more centralized sw-distribution etc etc). Thanks again, pH
