Selector - spatial filter by polygon geometry, not generalised rectangle

Hi Dashboarders,

I have two layers in my map widget. I've also got a selector that is set up as a spatial filter that triggers what to show in the map, an indicator widget and a list widget.

These two layers are in separate feature layers. They are not related. That's why I've set up a spatial filter. I noticed however that the numbers in the indicator widget and list widget are showing incorrectly. Nothing should appear there. I turned flash on in the map and realised the spatial filter was filtering as a rectangle, so it is picking up neighbouring data and loading that into the indicator and list widgets when in reality it should be populating the indicator and list widgets.

Is there a way to set the spatial filter to the exact extents of the polygon in the selector drop down, not a generalised rectangle?

Normally I'd post a video to go along with this explanation. It would be easier to explain that way, but it's on private land. Thank you in advance for anyone who can offer up ideas, suggestions or solutions.

If anyone else runs into this issue, I had the Selector category to Grouped values. That was the issue. Once I switched it to Features, it was all sorted.

Thanks for posted this I ran into the exact issue. Is there anyway to group values within the features tab?

I need to know how to use the spatial filters on group values as well.  When I use the features category I can use the spatial filter to show a count of points within the polygon, but when I use grouped values, the count is incorrect, as it seems to use the envelope instead of the actual polygon boundaries.

Did you ever find a solution for this?
