Can an operations dashboard view be accessed as an ArcGIS Online service? We have users that require a light weight web interface.  This is a pressing and very important question within our organization.
Thank you.

We are in the works of creating a web based version of the Operations Dashboard. It is intended to be a viewer and users within the organization can login and open an operations view using the web app.

Thanks for your prompt response.  Is there targeted release for this functionality? It will be quite important to our rollout of dashboards now being planned.

To be clear, the web based version of the operations dashboard would not require the user to install the Ops Dashboard software.  They could just logon to ArcGIS online and click a URL, correct?

Thanks again.

Yes the web dashboard app will become part of ArcGIS online, and once users sign in to their organization, they will be able to open a single-display operations view in the web dashboard app. It's a HTML viewer so there is no need to deploy or install dashboard software.

For the first release, although we don't have a detailed date set yet, we are looking at Q1 2014. Most likely around Dev Summit time frame (somewhere around March/April).

We would love to know if you have any specific requirements or comments on the web edition of the dashboard app.

Thanks

Okay.  Good information.  We are developing our user requirements now.  I can get back with you in the next few weeks with more specifics if you like.  We are upgrading to 10.2 and prototyping now.

Much appreciated!

Jay,

Regarding features that will be useful for our future dashboards:

We really would like to see time-enabled maps.  For some user groups this will be quite valuable.  I could be wrong but it seems that dashboard does not have the capability to recognize this feature in a web map.

We need to use related tables, 1:M relationships between a master feature table and tabular event data.  It seems the only way to summarize and chart these data is to create a denormalized version of the tables for dashboard apps.

In a perfect world we would:
1. See the event data for a particular point on a line (timeline) chart with a time slider for the user.  Chart changes as user changes the time.
2. Click on a point in a list and see a related table of event data.  When users click on a different point they see a different table.  They can browse the table as desired and export it.

We will be prototyping Collector apps and geoEvent processors for dashboards soon and will be testing the simulator.

Comments on web edition:
We too are in the midst of developing a time-enabled map for First Responder and search dispatchers.
Some functionality of importance to us:
Display only the most current position of each unique event as identified by a TrackID.
Display a track line as defined by a TrackID.
Time slider for duration of track line.  In our applications, time from 5 minutes to several days.
A distance/bearing widget.
Pop up for the points on the track as well as most current event.
Pan and zoom.
Create a ??Call Out? for any track point.
Thanks,
Lloyd

Hi Debora and Lloyd,

The first release of web dashboard app is now available on AGOL. Here is the link to online doc http://doc.arcgis.com/en/operations-dashboard/web/user/monitor-and-respond-to-events.htm.

Thanks for your inputs regarding your use cases and requirements. Some of the functions you want are already in place with current release. I will bring those that are not yet available back to the team for consideration in future releases. If you have other requirements for the web dashboard app please do not hesitate to keep them coming.

Thanks,
-Jay
