I have a number of elements in a group and I'd like to create a visual association between some of the elements in the group (essentially a group in a group). Right now as far as I can tell the options are no lines between elements or thin grey lines between all elements if resizing is turned on.
Ideally I could have lines between some of the elements and not others. In theory this could be done with a really narrow rich text element but I'm not sure the implications of that from an accessibility/proper page structure perspective.
Alternatively if there was a way to change the size of the new header/title that would create a better sense of visual hierarchy.
Do any other folks have ideas for how to do this?

I'm having the same experience where I would like to add a dividing line between grouped elements. I haven't found a solution yet so I posted an ArcGIS Idea: Outline Grouped Elements in ArcGIS Dasbhoards.
@emontague_napsg if you're looking for all elements in your group to have a thin dividing line like you see in the edit mode you can accomplish this by turning on Allow element re-size in the Settings.
In my case unfortunately that doesn't help because I'm trying to create a group within a group essentially.
Thanks for pointing out that "Allow element re-size" setting.
Another workaround idea I had was to change the background color of every other element. Maybe that workaround could help you group some elements together and differentiate from others. The workaround doesn't look too bad with a white and an off-white.
