Hi,

I used to have a category selector in my dashboard (action performed on a string field). It was working perfectly until today!

The idea of this selector is to select the feature if the selected category is included in the field value. for example, I have the following field values:

  1. 2022/23
  2. 2022/23, 2023/24
  3. 2023/24

and I have the following category selector (with multiple selections):

  • 2022/23
  • 2023/24
  • 2024/25

so, if the user selected "2023/24", then the map will show the second and third features only. similar to the contains and like operators!

it was working perfectly as I mentioned, but today ... the map filter the features like if the operator was "equal" !

any suggestions?

Cheers,

E.

I've been trying to accomplish the same thing and can't seem to.

We use Survey123 to record work completed, and when multiple employees work on the same task, the survey concatenates their names together into a single field, i.e. "JohnSmith, JaneDoe, MarkWahlberg".

I want to make a dashboard indicator that lets each employee see how many total hours they've worked, but I can't find a way to make the category selector use "Contains" logic instead of "Equals" logic, so if an employee enters their name right now they only get a count of all the hours where they've worked alone.

This is exactly what I tried to do!

It used to work perfectly until they did some updates on the dashboard and now the "Include" parameter/option which should work as a "contains" filter is not working anymore... it forces the results to match the condition "equal"!!

In my case, I had to add all the possible combinations in the filter (I know, it's painful but this is the only walk around to get my dashboard running)

let's hope the Esri team look at this issue and fix it! 😞
