In ArcGIS Dashboards, you can now allow dashboard users to download the data that is powering your visualizations. The data downloaded from a visualization respects all filters that have been applied to it.

For spatial filters, there are some things to keep in mind before downloading data. When a spatial filter is applied to an element, the returned query in the visualization includes features within the selected geometry. However, the downloaded CSV will include any features that intersect with the entire extent of the selected geometry.

See below for an example of how it works.

The selector above is filtering for features within the yellow polygon. The list and indicator are filtered and are showing the one feature in the polygon. When data is downloaded from either of the elements, the resulting CSV also includes features outside of the polygon’s geometry. These features are in the polygon’s entire extent.

To limit the features downloaded, you can use an attribute field filter instead of a spatial filter. Learn more about filtering by attribute fields.
