Has anyone experienced any issues with taking basemaps for Collector offline with the Files app? I can't find any Esri documentation on proper steps for doing this, however it doesn't seem too complicated. My steps are:

  1. Open Files, open Google Drive.
  2. Select my .tpk file Google Drive and select Share.
  3. Select Save to Files.
  4. Navigate to On My iPad > Collector.
  5. Click Add.

I then get an error "couldn't communicate with helper application".

My .tpk is 4.7GB. My iOS and Drive application are up-to-date.

Thanks!

Erica

Hi Erika -- The steps we have are here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/collector/ipad/help/configure-collector.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_4C07745E29D74489...

We recommend long pressing on the file you want, and then moving it to your device with the "move" option. But what you are doing should have the same effect, and doing so works for me with a tpk I use. That TPK is a lot smaller than the one you are using, though. I couldn't find any information on file size restrictions for the Files app and Google Drive.

We saw something similar to this internally (although I'm not sure if exactly the same) and found that updating to the latest version of iOS 12.4 resolved it in that case. Perhaps something to try?
