"No valid area" and ${SHAPE.AREA} in 'Collect New Feature' pop out

How do I get rid of the 'No valid area' and the ${SHAPE.AREA} text that appears in my  'Collect New Feature' pop out? This occurs for my line and polygons features. Source is a feature service hosted by ArcGIS Server 10.2.2.

In ArcGIS Online, check popup configuration and you should be able to get rid of ${SHAPE.AREA} there. You can get some help from Create and share a map for data collection—Collector for ArcGIS | ArcGIS .

Regarding 'No valid area', once you have collected valid polygon in collector, the message will be gone. It gives you a hint that you haven't collected a valid polygon yet.
