Date field Collector auto populating

Hey GIS people,

I'm trying to solve a problem we are having with Collector for ArcGIS on iPad.

When my crews create a new feature any dates in the feature class autopopulate with 12/30/1998 @ 12:00 a.m.

I've tried looking into the problem on our portal and manager, but i can't find out how to correct this problem.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I'm not sure if this is your problem, but I had a similar experience and discovered that the problem was the default date value in the Edit Feature Template that was in the mxd that I had published the feature service from.  When I made sure that the value was null in the edit template, and republished, then when a user clicked into the field in Collector it defaulted to "now".
