Collector crashing when searching feature attributes

Has anyone had trouble allowing mobile users to search on-premise hosted feature attributes in Collector?  When we enable this feature in our web maps, the app will crash on any search done within the app.  The same web map is used in Explorer the search function is working as expected.

We are using the iOS version of Collector and connecting to our hosted map services using VPN.

Any thoughts?

Hi Jay,

I have the same problem and have the same configuration with our users connecting to our hosted map services using VPN.  Did you every get a resolution?

Ryan,

No, we are still having that issue. Hopefully fixed in the next iOS release!?!?

On a similar Collector topic, do you guys have any issue updating features? We get a database error VERY often:

Database error: The current version does not support editing (base, consistent, or closed) .

Do you ever see this error? We are using SQL Server 2008 R2 and still on Server 10.1 sp1 for the time being. You? Also, we are using non-versioned feature classes to edit, and they are being edited by multiple users at the same time. Is this similar to your set-up?

I would love to hear about your configuration and set-up, as this has been a MAJOR pain point. We have a support ticket with Esri, but seem to be getting nowhere over the last 2 months or so with them!

Thanks for any feedback,

Jay

Jay,

I don't have any insight for you on that.  We are not doing any editing yet.  Maybe we can get some answers at MWEUUG next month.

Ryan,

If you are not doing any editing, then I would highly recommend using the Explorer app over Collector. It is a lot smoother, and has some great additional functionality.

Jay,

We are using the Explorer app, but it doesn't support feature attachments right now.  ESRI Support has a Bug reported on it.  I was checking out Collector b/c it does support feature attachments.  So for right now Searching >  Viewing Attachments in our case.

Ryan,

That is odd. We use feature attachments and are able to view them in Explorer for our inspections.

Are you using iOS or Android? Tablets or phones?

Jay,

We are using Ipads.

Ryan,

We are also using iPads.

Now that I remember, I did have add the features into the web map a specific way. You have to had the feature containing attachments specifically. For example, for our inspection images to work I have to add the specific layer of the rest endpoint:

http://rpuv234/arcgis/rest/services/ElecInspectionImages/MapServer/0

Does that make sense? Give that a try.

Jay,

Yes that makes sense and initially I had my Transformers added like you show.  Then I came across another bug in Explorer where the symbology for all my single phase transformer was set to the same color rather than being unique for each a, b, and c phase.  The symbology looks correct in ArcGIS Online app and WAB map, but not when it's viewed through the Explorer app.  I am hoping the next Explorer update fixes all these bugs.
