What device are you using? Does it happen to all the maps?

Ayelet, I know this is an older question, but since you found a solution, it might help others to know what it was.
I'm curios if it was just an uninstall and reinstall the app. Seems apps seem to start crashing after a while on my iPad, and that typically repairs them (typically after a few updates had been applied to the app).
if not, it would help to know if it was an issue with you app, or something that might help others in the future. Thanks

I didn't see your reply until now. Sorry.
I can't remember what was the solution, but sometime after that Android OS was updated and the Collector doesn't work properly on my device anymore. esri are aware of this issue and they can't do much.
My advice, do not hit "ok" when your Android ask you to update the system.
