Can you author a Collector map to edit attributes only, not location?

I want to be able to give editing access of the fields in Collector but not allow users to move the location of a point. Is there a way to lock the location so that the users cannot move the point or line, but allows them to still edit the attribute data? Thanks!

Hi Doug,

This is helpful, thank you. If you’ll permit two follow up questions:

1. If I’m using AGOL to share the data to be edited in Collector, does that mean I’m hosting on AGOL? If so, can you help me navigate to the menu you originally posted? I’d like to know the different pathways available to me.

2. Is there a way to lock the geometry for some layers in the feature service and not others? I’m trying to resolve the problem posed by an earlier contributor to this post of wanting to lock the locations of existing points but allow the entry of new ones. I was wondering if you could put two copies of the same feature class in a map service and lock the geometry of one but not the other. If this question is best posed as a separate post, I will happily do so.

Again, thanks for taking the time to address these very basic questions.

Best,

-Gus
