I am trying out City Engine, if it works for our company we are buying a license.
We are especially interested in the webviewer function.

I´m using a piece of city that´s about 2x1,5 km in combination with an aerial photograph which has been toned down to 2m-pixel which makes it about 60kb.

One of the buildings is from a multipatch (originated from .dae) shape in a .gdb, it's fully textured.
For the other building textures i am using the rule from the tutorial.

When I´m exporting the scene for the webviewer none of the textures on the buildings or terrain are showing, vegetation is shown normally. This is disregarding any texture-quality changes that i've tried.

If i would turn off buildings, vegetation, roads etc, the aerial photograph ís showing

Webviewer export:

CityEngine export

Any ideas anyone???

Hi !

Which version of CityEngine are you using ? Are you using the latest version of the WebViewer ?

Hi!

Thanks for replying, I've just tried the version that you referred to, with the same results.

Iv'e managed to show the building textures in the webviewer by using the .dea instead of the multipatch. But the DEM is still not showing any textures.
When i'm using a topographic base map (vector) everything is showing great, when using an aerial on my DEM it will turn out grey. And when i turn off the generated roads the DEM is showing textures.

In the case that all layers are turned on i'm getting two error messages during the export:
Java_com_esri_prt_clients_ce_CEClient__1generate: textures structures illegal, ignoring textures! - [Worker-2]
Java_com_esri_prt_clients_ce_CEClient__1generate: textures structures illegal, ignoring textures! - [Worker-8]

The export with low quality aerial:

The export with topographic base map, including roads:

The export with aerial and no roads:

Hi again,

can you post this example with texture that fails to export to WebScene ?

This would help us to track the issue down ..

Let me know ..

Sure!
Could you tell me what I should post exactly?
As said I am new to CE so I'm not sure what file(s) you need.

The .3ws file is about 26mb so that exceeds the upload limit...

Best regards.

Hi!

That's a bit of a problem because the zipped .dae exceeds the upload limit.
It's about 16mb... Could that be the problem?

regards!
