I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this. Please direct me if there is a better location for it.

What are the three types of data that can be added into a GIS, and more specifically into the table of contents?

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I have no clue in which direction this question goes.

GIS is a complex field with many data types ( not just 3 ), so please state the question very concise ..

I would guess that you are referring to generic types of data, in which case the answer could be vector, raster and tabular.
