Multiple geotiffs as terrain texture

I'm trying to export shp and terrain data from ArcGIS into CityEngine 2013.  The terrain is exported as a height map tiff with the aerial photography as the texture.  The problem is that multiple tiff AP tiles makes up the texture, but I can only use a single image as the texture in CityEngine.  How can I apply multiple tiles as the texture for the the terrain? 
Do I need to join them into one single image?  Has this changed in CE 2014?

hi ..

both the dem ( elevation map ) and the satellite picture must be 1 image each. tiles are not supported.

this did not change in 2014.
