Custom Report Generation - City Engine Basic vs. Advanced

I am trying to determine the difference in reporting capabilities between the basic and advanced versions. The product comparison page shows "Custom Report Generation" as a feature for advanced only.

What type of reporting does the basic version provide? Does the basic version have the capability to calculate GFA (Gross Floor Area), FAR (Floor Area Ratio), etc. or is that only in the advanced product?

Hi !

The Reporting functionality itself is based on a CGA function called 'report()'.

That means that it does not matter WHAT you want to report (numbers, ratios, ..) but rather IF you can get the results of those reports. The CGA code for reporting is available in Basic, but the functionality to visualize the results is not.


In short, in Basic, there's no reporting available.
