View Sharepoint list data in separate mapping app

I have created a location-enabled list in Sharepoint using ArcGIS Mapping for Sharepoint. The layer (list) displays great in a map web part on a Sharepoint page.

I would like to display this Sharepoint list data as a layer in a separate Silverlight web mapping app (outside of Sharepoint) using the ArcGIS API for Silverlight.

Is there a way to connect to the list and view the points as a featurelayer?

It appears to be difficult to connect to the Sharepoint SQL tables to view the list data.

Any guidance, ideas, suggestions?
