How to save 'Sketch widget' changes ?

Here is the story guys. 

I'm totally new to arcGIS(2 days old )

At our organization, we would like to integrate arcGIS in our web application through ArcGIS API for JavaScript.  We're trying to let end user be able to draw on the map and save the changes. More like "arcGIS Online".

Is it possible through the API.? Or is there any other way to achieve it?

As i searched, i found saveAs; but this seems to work only on Web Scene, not on Map. Also found that, its not possible sketch on Web Scene and saveAs. like it was possible on Map.

Very much confused, please help.
