Questions about editing the CSS files.

I am modifying the config.XML in the sample viewer to use tiled service.
I believe it is using the blackgold.swf stylesheet.

My service shows up transparent with a black backrground, which does not work well with the black text.  Alpha is set to 1.

I have tried editing the blackgold.css file and changing various background-color properties here from #000000 to #FFFFFF (white) and even #00FF00 (lime, just to see if they change).  They do not seem to.

I sometimes get messages saying it is a derived property and do I want to change it.  I have tried Yes and No, and either way it lets me edit it.

So I have a couple of questions.
1) Which property do I change for the background color of the viewer so I have a white background?
2) When I do that, do I need to recompile the blackgold.swf file?  Or do something else for the changes to take effect?
3) When it says it is derived, should I change it here or somewhere else?
4) What is the best way to edit these?  I.E. if i used Adobe Catalyst, would that make it easier to see which CSS properties belong to which components? Or is there a better tool?

Thanks for your help.

I may have made a mistake posting right before the holiday.  Or being too specific with my questions.

What i really need to know is what the process for modifying the colors of the "skin" is.  I tried just changing the CSS file and that did not appear to work.

ANY guideance is appreciated.

Michael,

   It should be as simple as

Application {
    backgroundColor: #a1af7f;
 color: white;
}

Doh,

I knew it would be something simple.  I was editing the CSS file in the bin-debug folder.  Which is probably what it meant by being derived (Just guessing though).

So when I edited the CSS file in Src/(Default Package) folder things started working as expected.

Still getting used to this Flash Builder IDE.

Robert, thanks for coming to my rescue, again.
