Hi All,

I am new in web App but ran into a difficulty trying to add a "Search" and "Near me" widget into my app. Specifically, I can't get my layer populate as a "Search" layer. Please, see attached document.

When I click "add search source" and "choose select from layer", nothing appears. What could be wrong please?

While this question might be better suited for the https://community.esri.com/community/gis/web-gis/web-appbuilder?sr=search&searchId=d1b375b2-413a-426... group, I'll go ahead and see what I can do.

According to your screen shot, the Search widget is looking for a Feature Layer to search. A feature layer is different from a map service layer in that it needs to point to a specific layer in the map service. This tells it what geometry, fields, and other properties are available.

If you add an entire map services with one or more layers, search widget won't pick up the individual layers in the service. You will need to add the layer(s) you want the search layer to use (mapserver/##) one at a time.

If you have already added the whole map service, and don't want to duplicate the one layer that you want to search, you can select the "Add Service URL" option and paste in the individual layer (e.g. .../mapserver/3) in the blank provided.

Hope this helps.
