When I create a Profile Graph in ArcMap using the 3D Analyst tool, I am given a graph with elevation on the Y axis, and 4 options for units on the X axis.  I want the x-axis to have units of distance. I am in GCS_North_American_1983.  I am given the following options in the Graph Properties box:

X field (optional): <None>, FID, M, or Z.

Ultimately I would like to choose between feet or meters on both axes.  Any ideas?

Hi,

I would suggest using a projected coordinate system for your map/data. If in GCS_North_American_1983, set your dataframe to be in a projected coordinate system (NAD_1983_UTM_Zone_ for example). Your graph should then have X-axis of your graph in meters.

Hope this helps!!
