How can export a complex TIN surface to SketchUp?

In the past I used the SketchUp plugin for ArcGIS to export any TIN surfaces, polylines, points and polygons directly to SketchUp.  This process had its set of hickups but it mostly worked perfectly until version 10 where this workflow was replaced by the "Collada" workflow.  I can't get any lines, points polygons to SketchUp at all now and the Collada exporter for multipatch features is so buggy it's basically unusable.

Since converting a complex TIN to multipatch either does not work at all or if it works it yield unusable ... as well the conversion process from a complex multipatch to Collada fails almost every time; How do I export a TIN surface from ArcGIS to SketchUp without having to use the "Collada" method?

More Info: I further simplified the TIN i was finally able to sucessfuly convert to COLLADA. (Some triangles do not match and the problem gets worse with complex surfaces) However, SketchUp was taking hours loading the file so I don't even know if SketchUp would be able to read it.  (Seems that everytime I import any Collada file generated in ArcGIS i get what appears to be a critical error but the import continues if i ignore the error,  KMZ created from ArcGIS will not import into SketchUp at all) I've also tried exporting the LiDAR raster to XYZ and then to CSV and used the Could_v8 point cloud importer to try to bring it to SketchUp but this was taking 6 hours before i killed the process.
