Construct Points on polyline at 3d distance

Greetings. I'm having trouble finding information on the construct points tool. I have about 100 separate hiking trails that have z geometry. I have calculated points at 1 mile intervals along the track using the Construct Points tool in the editor toolbar. The problem I'm having is determining whether these points are based on the surface distance or euclidean distance along the line. I can't seem to find any documentation on this in the help files or in the forum. Any insight? I can upload files if needed.

Hey Sean, thanks for your speedy reply. having the tool native would be awesome! We've been spruiking how acurate these race maps are (compared to the web based options), then I discovered this little chestnut!

RE porting the addin across - I'm dreading having to go back into ArcMap. When you say 'very soon' is that days, weeks, or months sort of timeline?

Hey mate - all good . I’ve done what I needed to do in ArcMap. The addin worked a treat, so no rush from me. Will be good to have it in Pro when you can get to it though, as this will keep coming up.
