Hi all,

I would like to aks for some help. I imported a dwg file into ArcMap (with CAD to Geodatabase tool, then I also added the dwg with AddData)

There are contour lines in the drawing, and I would like to use 3d Analyst tool to create terrain model, analysis of slopes, aspects, etc. But when I enable the 3d Analyst tool, it is not active, and I cannot use any of its options.

In the ArcToolbox there are also 3d Analyst tools, can I do the same things though that?

I attach a screenshot.

Thanks a lot!!

Go to the Customize menu, select Extensions and toggle on the 3D analyst

Just checking...Yes you can do way more things in ArcToolbox's 3D toolset.  Also, the toolbar can be loaded even though the extension isn't...it will just be disabled...at least in version 10.2.2

Ok, thank you. And do you have an idea how I could make it active so that I can use it?

The various options for the Toolbar require certain types of data.  Are your data in the proper format. or is it just a 2D drawing?

maybe the Cad to Geodatabase would be useful getting the data into a useable form
