Meet Tiffany Wu, a Senior GIS Specialist at Montgomery Parks who partnered with the park’s Community Gardens program to transform the way they manage affordable growing space for Maryland residents. In this Member Spotlight, Tiffany shares how using tools like ArcGIS Survey123 and ArcGIS Instant Apps to automate their garden inspection process enabled the Community Gardens team to reclaim weeks of time for other priorities, decreased the need for violation notices to gardeners, and boosted participant retention. Before his colleagues arrive at the office, City of Arlington, Texas GIS Developer Jeffrey Thompson is already online—warming up for the day by helping others in Esri Community. In this feature, Jeffrey shares how his daily rituals in Esri Community have helped him sidestep technical roadblocks, make valuable connections with Esri staff, and pioneer a REST endpoint integration that feeds Virtual Map, a central data repository for the city's GIS database that he estimates saves Arlington citizens millions of dollars a year.

Hi everyone,

My name is Nairi, and I am the new Community Manager for ArcGIS Ideas. Each one of you brings valuable expertise and a unique perspective to the Esri Community, and I’m here to foster conversation between the community about how we innovate the ArcGIS platform for you and your organizations.

ArcGIS Ideas exists to surface real challenges and bring them into the product conversation in a way that is visible and actionable. My role is to design and implement strategies, structure, and momentum to that process, so the best ideas rise to the surface and help shape what is next. I’ve seen how a well-written idea can clarify user needs and help teams align around shared priorities.

I have spent the last few years at Esri working with Technical Support, as an analyst and training lead, always at the intersection of real user experience and ArcGIS products. I’ve had thousands of interactions with many geospatial professionals from my time as a Support Analyst that have given me a deeper understanding and appreciation of your experience with ArcGIS— especially when it doesn’t work the way you want it to.

I’m passionate about user experience, and I’m excited about where we can elevate and improve the entire ArcGIS Ideas program. I have many ideas about Ideas and I’m sure you do too— I want to hear them!

If you are attending the Esri User Conference, I would love to meet with you. Come say hello, share your feedback, or ask what’s next for ArcGIS Ideas.

Thank you for being part of Esri Community. I’m looking forward to what we will build together.

See you at UC,
