Hi Daniel, FYI, yesterday we tested turning windows updates back on after installing .NET 4.8.1. KB5017266 has recreated the problem in our environment at Pro 2.9.2 and 2.9.3. (September 20, 2022-KB5017266 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10, version 20H2, Windows 10 Version 21H1, and Windows 10 Version 21H2).

We have resolved the issue at our organization by uninstalling Windows update KB5017262 (2022-09 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64). Uninstalling an OS patch isn't ideal, but allows us to continue working in Pro 2.9x. Here's hoping ESRI releases a fix in short order! UPDATE - Further to this issue, we tested on a machine running 2.9.3. We left KB5017262 in place and installed the latest .NET Framework (4.8.1) and the issue resolved. Thanks Daniel_Schmidt for bringing up .NET versions as an avenue to investigate. UPDATE (September 29, 2022) - Yesterday we tested turning windows updates back on. .NET 4.8.1. KB5017266 has recreated the problem in our environment at Pro 2.9.2 and 2.9.3. Starting mid-day today all users in our organization are experiencing crashes of Pro 2.9.2 when we attempt any interaction with symbology, whether by clicking in the Contents pane or opening the Symbology pane. We have tried some fixes found in older posts and bug reports, including changing the rendering engine to OpenGL, clearing the display cache and running a repair, all to no avail. We will look into whether there have been OS or network changes next, but are wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue appear.

I too am seeing these errors at 10.6, on both dynamic and cached services. The services themselves seem unaffected, but I see jobs stacking up in the arcgisserver/directories/arcgisjobs/system/publishingtools_gpserver and cachingtools_gpserver folders. These jobs are not being cleared after publication completes. For cached services, when checking the status, some crazy numbers are returned, for example "407% of the tiles are present". We ran into this initially several months ago with cached services and esri support walked us through stopping the cache gp services in server admin, clearing out the gpserver folders related to caching, then restarting the services which did resolve it until it cropped up again a couple days ago. I tried this same method today for both caching and publishing tools but am still seeing the same errors when I republish an existing dynamic service. We were advised at the time of the initial problem that we had "too many services published to our arcgis server". Basically, the number of services causes a large number of ArcSOC processes running at the same time which affects performance (Problem: The number of ArcSOC instances causes ArcGIS Server performance issues). We combined a number of services to reduce the count, but have since published some additional services so there may be some truth to a large number of services and therefore ArcSOC processes being one possible cause of these errors.

After many minutes trying to understand why the title case label expression we have built and use in other projects in both map and pro to modify our all caps street names was validating but not changing the labels, we discovered the setting under Label Class > Symbol > Appearance was set to "Upper case". On changing the setting to "Normal", the expression worked. So.... the appearance setting overrides the expression. Is this expected behaviour or a bug? ArcGIS Pro 2.1.2

Hi Don, I have a user experiencing an issue and I wonder if it is a bug? Her system is Windows 7 64 bit with AutoCAD Map 3d 2018. When working in AutoCAD with the plug-in and with the attribute table open, if she moves focus to a different program on the same screen as the attribute table (eg. to check her email), when returning to AutoCAD, the attribute table does not come to the front, and is not showing in or accessible from the Windows taskbar. Because the table locks the AutoCAD map screen, this renders her project inaccessible and the only way to resolve it is to kill the application through the task manager. I am running a similar setup but on Windows 10 and cannot recreate the issue. Do you have any insights that would help us troubleshoot this? Thanks

FYI, I opened a ticket with Support on similar issues (when configuring PrintTools in Portal, failed with "Unable to reach the print service" despite the service being up and shared to everyone). For us, it turned out that our 10.6 upgrade did not upgrade the config-store. To check, go to your arcgisserver\config-store location and open version.json in a text editor. If the serverVersion is not what you expect it to be, this might be your issue. Note apparently the print capabilities were completely redesigned in 10.6. We upgraded the config-store and PrintTools is working as expected.

FYI, I opened a case with ESRI support on this issue. It turns out our 10.6 server upgrade did not complete the upgrade on the config-store. Support walked us through the steps to complete it and the PrintTools Utility now functions as expected. To check if this is your issued go to your arcgisserver\config-store location and open version.json in a text editor. If the serverVersion says anything other than than the version you expect (eg. 10.6.0), this may be your problem.
