What is the reasoning behind not allowing the template to change? It's merely changing the requests being sent is it not? I'm not sure why it should be able to be updated and then trigger a refresh on the tiles, or at the very least make future requests honor the new template. I was trying to avoid doubling up on all of our layers.

I am attempting to use a WebTiledLayer and a query param to toggle labelling on and off based off the user's preferences, i.e. labels=0 or labels=1 to toggle them on and off. The problem is, I apparently can't do this after the layer has been loaded. Is there any way to get around this limitation, or what is the correct way if I needed to change that template on the fly? Should I not be able to change that and trigger a reload on the layer in the map? Thanks

I am using the ArcGISRuntime .NET for a .NET 4.8 application. I am attempting to set up a WebTiledLayer that required a query parameter on the tail end of the template in order to consume the service endpoint correctly. This works fine with a simple ?reinsYear=2020 templated URL; however, if I attempt to send JSON or a more complicated query param, I get an invalid URL exception. At first, I thought it was b/c the runtime might be picking up the { } as an expected replacement in the template, so I even went so far as to only send in an array. So now, for my test scenario, my URL looks like the following: http://localhost:6300/tiles/xyz/highrisk/{level}/{col}/{row}.png?objectIDs=[54747,54786,55021,55109,55197,55436,55472,55489,55674,55675,55860,55866,55911,56039] The same call via Postman works perfectly fine, and the URL above is a valid URL. Any ideas how I can get this to work or what's going on here? Thanks

Some more details now that I am not posting from my phone: 3857 in SQL Server uses Meters as its unit, 4326 uses decimal degrees. The coordinates you posted are not the same coordinates between the two, you would have to convert the geometry to a 3857 geometry, or convert from the decimal degrees to meters. Also, any geometry defined as a specific SRID within SQL Server will be excluded from any geospatial query you are performing against it when the geometry is in a different spatial reference. Hope that helps.

Those are not valid 3857 coordinates. 3857 coordinates are in meters, not degrees.

Yes, we were trying something like that. However, since it is on the "changed" event and not a "changing", we were receiving some very weird rubber banding since the viewpoint had already changed and started rendering as opposed to intercepting it prior to the change/render.

So there are a few things that caused this in case anyone else runs across this. When publishing the service, there's an option to allow per request modification of layer order and symbology. There is also the option to Draw the Map service either Dynamically or through the use of a tile cache. Now, if you check the per request modification option and force the tile cache, this will display just fine when being consumed via map service. However, it will cause the Export Map call to fail to utilize the tile cache when returning the image. However, if you uncheck the allow per request modification, the ExportMap will utilize the tile cache as is expected. Odd behavior, but there you have it.

I have a Map Service published as a dummy image service, i.e. it has a feature service published and is utilizing a tile cache to render the background satellite imagery. I have noticed that when using this method, the ExportMap call in the rest API is not returning the imagery from the cache, instead I receive a blank image. Is there any way to get this to work? Thanks, Nathan

Any solution if you can't update to 4.7 or later? Just wandering b/c it appears we are having some issues relating to this as well.

You used to be able to use reflection to achieve this by retrieving the NativeGeoView property and subscribe to the corresponding events, is this no longer possible?

We figured as much. I have most of the interaction stuff working. The GeometryChanged event isn't firing, but I believe that is a known bug in 100.4, so I just added a watcher for the property changed on the geometry property instead for the time being. I'm not seeing any of the cursor/pointer moved events to register though to handle that in the runtime for Xamarin.Forms. Any ideas on how to subscribe to that event so we can attempt to keep the point on the line?

Is it possible to set up the sketch editor so that you have two points that you can drag along the perimeter of the circle so that you can take a portion of the circle? We have scenarios where the users aren't wanting to have a full circle, but rather a portion of it, think of it as either taking a piece out of the pie or taking the pie with the piece cut out of it. We'd like them to drag the two points around the perimeter of the circle to determine how much of the circle they want to take when they choose to take a partial pivot. We were thinking of adding the circle as a feature on the map, setting it with no fill and an outline utilizing a dashed line. Then putting 2 points on top of each out in the sketch editor. As they move the points we'd add another circle feature that is filled with the area between the two points. We'd need to snap the points along the perimeter of the 1st circle feature though, which we aren't quite sure how to accomplish that piece. Any ideas on how to implement something like this?

How can you set the maximum extent for the MapView in the .NET runtime version 100.2? I've tried intercepting the OnViewPointChanged, but my viewpoint doesn't exactly match the bounds that I had set, I am assuming due to the zoom level scaling or something of that nature? So then I tried on my setup, Snippet // Set the current viewpoint/extent of the map and animate to it await SetViewpointGeometryAsync(MapBounds).ContinueWith((prevTask) => { _viewPointBounds = GetCurrentViewpoint(ViewpointType.BoundingGeometry).TargetGeometry; _prevBounds = _viewPointBounds; }); and on my event handler: Snippet private void OnViewPointChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { var newBounds = GetCurrentViewpoint(ViewpointType.BoundingGeometry).TargetGeometry; if (!GeometryEngine.Within(newBounds, _viewPointBounds)) SetViewpoint(new Viewpoint(_prevBounds)); else _prevBounds = newBounds; } This works great for the first time I load the map, but when I set up the map for another view, it ends up stuck at the old one, despite my _viewPointBounds and _prevBounds being reset via the code above in the setup that is called again. Any ideas? I feel like I am pretty close, but I'm just missing something.

How can I detect mouse events from the UWP side of the control? I am having difficulties dealing with a PressAndHold when using a Mouse, and can't seem to locate the mouse events on the MapView control itself. I am wanting to detect a right-click on the UWP platform and treat it similar to a long press, i.e. the PressAndHold. Any ideas? I'm trying to figure out what I have to do to locate the events, as the only ones I am seeing are GeoViewDoubleTapped, GeoViewHolding, and GeoViewTapped. Thanks, Nathan
