Hello, I have a map service that I am trying to return distinct values on using a query that utilizes greater than / less than operators. My first query appears as follows, and when executed, returns records. Executing the same query with returnDistinctValues set to true returns 0 records. Replacing the second part of the query with "1=1" also returns records So the question is, what is it about the second part of my query that would cause the map service to return no records? It seems to be a problem with less than symbol but I have no way to confirm that. -James

I am seeing some strange behavior each night with our ArcGIS Sever installation where it will throw the following error and become unresponsive. Sep 01, 2014 4:03:06 AM ClientCommunicatorAdmin restart WARNING: Failed to restart: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 192.168.30.14; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect Sep 01, 2014 4:03:27 AM RMIConnector RMIClientCommunicatorAdmin-doStop WARNING: Failed to call the method close():java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 192.168.30.14; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect Sep 01, 2014 4:03:27 AM ClientCommunicatorAdmin Checker-run WARNING: Failed to check connection: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect Sep 01, 2014 4:03:27 AM ClientCommunicatorAdmin Checker-run WARNING: stopping I am still able to navigate to the the manager page, however, each service is listed as "stopping" or "stopped". Restarting the service for ArcGIS Server seems to resolve the problem until approximately the same time on the next day We have tried re-installing but the problem is still reoccurring.. Has anyone run into this problem before and, if so, what did you do to resolve it? -James

I have recently upgraded our server to the 10.2.2 release of ArcGIS. In catalog, I have the option to upgrade our instances that are at 10.2 to 10.2.2. When i upgrade, the Upgrade Status states "This 10.2.2 geodatabase matches the ArcGIS release you are currently using". However, if i look at an instance that is at 10.2.1, the upgrade status states "This 10.2.1 geodatabase matches the ArcGIS release you are currently using" which does not seem correct. I have verified that my ArcCatalog version is 10.2.2.3552. Can anyone provide some insight into this?

Hello, I have MapService set up with Linear Referencing capability turned on (using Roads and Highways 10.2.1). The data connection is to an file geodatabase. I am seeing the following error when i view the error logs in the server manager. The layer at index 7 is a county boundaries layer and should not have anything to do with the LRS, yet it appears that something is causing LRS to throw an exception. Has anyone seen this before, and if so, what can I do to fix it? -James Unable to access layer properties for layer index 7: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040351): The table was not found. So after digging into this and watching the network traffic with developer tools it appears that you can't actually specify a layer on which to set the Time Slider. It seems as though it parses the map layers to find any which contain a TimeInfo property and then queries those map services with the appropriate date parameters. It would have been nice if this was mentioned somewhere in the documentation instead of having to discern it from the sample provided.

It turns out that my implementation was using a feature set which was causing the problem. Once i changed it to a graphics layer the map captured the event. Thank you for your reply.

Can someone explain the Time Slider implementation to me? I am trying to use the live example found here http://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/sandbox/sandbox.html?sample=time_sliderwithdynamiclayer but am failing to understand how the widget determines what graphics to draw as it doesn't appear that a reference to the map or a layer are passed into it.

I am trying to perform a query to return distinct values from my map service running on 10.1. The returned result has 1000 records (the max set in the server) and when i inspect it I am seeing duplicate values. Here is my code. var queryTask = new esri.tasks.QueryTask(layerServiceUrl); var query = new esri.tasks.Query(); query.where = "1=1"; query.outFields = []; query.outFields.push(field); query.returnDistinctValues = true; Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

I have an identify tool that listens for the onClick event of the map like so handle = dojo.connect(mapController.map, 'onClick', function (evt) {...} When i run a query against the map i am highlighting the returned features by adding the geometries as graphics to a map like so var layerId = "query-graphics-layer" var queryGraphicsLayer = new esri.layers.GraphicsLayer({id: layerId}); map.addLayer(queryGraphicsLayer); //Add the graphics to the query-graphics-layer $.each(queryFeatureSet.features, function( index, feature) { queryGraphicsLayer.add(new esri.Graphic(feature.geometry, feature.symbol)); }); The problem is that when i go to click on the feature to get the identify, the onClick event of the map does not fire. I tried to use queryGraphicsLayer.disableMouseEvents(); but that didn't work. It appears that the graphics in the graphics layer is taking the click event and that it is not getting propagated to the map which seems to be by design http://resources.esri.com/help/9.3/arcgisserver/apis/javascript/arcgis/help/jshelp_start.htm#jshelp/inside_events.htm However, i would like to know if there is some way to allow that event to propagate up to the map or possibly a way to propagate it myself?
