JD, Thank you for your addition to this thread and adding that code snippet worked perfectly to zoom to the extent of the polygon and zooms out one LOD level. However after updating to the latest build of the WAB, I noticed a bug that is coming up in my application. The user enters a search parameter and it zooms to selected feature. If a user then enters another parameter in the search box and selects the selected feature, the application will zoom to the feature but the map then becomes a solid grey background and won't display any of the services or basemap. You can then zoom in or out and the feature will then appear as well as the basemap. Is there any additional code that can be added to clear the previous extent or whatever is hanging up the map? First Search Result Second Search Result Thank you Alex

Tom, Thank you for the great widget! I need to add the measurement of "Varas" to the tool. I went into the Settings.js file and added the measurement { value: 'VARAS', label: this.nls.varas, abbr: this.nls.varasAbbreviation || 'v', conversion: jimuUtils.localizeNumber(1.1811, { places: 4 }) } I added the units info to the nls folders and this to the widgets.js file { unit: 'VARAS', label: this.nls.varas } When I open the widget in WAB I can add the unit in the configuration of the widget and see the "Varas" with the appropriate length. But when I launch the widget, I don't see Varas as an option to measure with. Can you please assist me in on how to add my new unit of measurement of Varas to the selection screen?

ESRI has pointed me to this script that pulls down a fgd from a AGO hosted service. It seems to be working for me developer-support/createReplicaAndDownload.py at master · Esri/developer-support · GitHub

When a user clicks the edit functionality and adds a feature to the map and finishes adding information to the feature have a button that is enabled that says "submit" that will close out the pop up window. I have noticed that some of my users get confused when they finish adding fetures. It is not very intuitive to have delete and close as the two buttons. It is easy for me to understand to just close the pop up but some of my users are not as bright.

Check out this thread. http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/60863-Export-Feature-Service-with-Attachments Scroll towards the bottom and you will find the checked answer. You can navigate to the feature service REST and follow Mike's instructions. Then you can create a KMZ from the file Geo Database. Hope this helps Alex

Can you provide the script to change the enable editor tracking to true "enableEditorTracking" : true? Thank you for any response. Pretty sure this will enable attachments, it works for me. Update variables at the bottom. You can switch TRUE to FALSE to disable attachments. import json, urllib, urllib2
def gentoken(username, password, referer, expiration=60):
#Re-usable function to get a token required for Admin changes
referer = "http://www.arcgis.com/"
query_dict = {'username': username,
'password': password,
'expiration': str(expiration),
'client': 'referer',
'referer': referer,
'f': 'json'}
query_string = urllib.urlencode(query_dict)
tokenUrl = "https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/generateToken"
tokenResponse = urllib.urlopen(tokenUrl, urllib.urlencode(query_dict))
token = json.loads(tokenResponse.read())
if "token" not in token:
print token['messages']
import sys
sys.exit()
else:
# Return the token to the function which called for it
return token['token']
def enableAttachment(token, fsURL):
query_dict = {'updateDefinition': "{'hasAttachments':true}", #false
'f': 'json',
'token': token}
query_string = urllib.urlencode(query_dict)
attachResponse = urllib.urlopen(fsURL, urllib.urlencode(query_dict))
msg = json.loads(attachResponse.read())
print msg

PASSWORD = " ______ "
REFFER = "http://www.arcgis.com"
fsURL = "http://services1.arcgis.com/<ORGANIZATION IDENTFIER/arcgis/admin/services/<SERVICE NAME>.FeatureServer/0/updateDefinition"
# for example, a link may look like:

Rhett, Is there any way you can share your python work flow for extracting the BLOB fields from a database to disk? Alex Dustin, I have a similar workflow, with photos stored in BLOB fields and one to potentially many photos per feature. The attachemnts feature doesn't really support 1:many so I have a python script that extracts the jpeg photos from the blob and saves them in a folder. As it is writing the blobs, I capture the path and filename that I am saving them to (as well as my feature ID) and append to a list, then at the end of my script, I insertCursor the list to populate a FGDB table. Now I not only have the jpeg stored local in a folder, I also have a ready-made table with all my paths ready to join/calculate to the feature class data that can be used for my link field. Of course, I had to make a virtual directory on the server pointing to the folder I saved all my jpegs in, then had to go into IIS and, for that virtual folder, allow directory browsing as I often have many photos per site (if just one photo, my "path" actually points to the jpeg file, if more than one, it points to the folder. This was kind of cluttery, especially for the sites with multiple photos, as IE doesn't give thumbnail views, so, all you see is a list of the somewhat cryptic filenames, and need to click on each photo to view it. So, I took it one step farther. After my python script extracts and saves the jpegs from the BOLBs, writes the "lookup table", joins/calculates the URL info to my feature class, it then runs a slightly modified version of pyGallery. This creates a gallery for my photos similar to ( http://pygallery.sourceforge.net/samples/ ). So now, if there is one photo, my popup says "Click for Photo", and it takes you direclty to the image viewed in a browser. If there are more than one image, it says "Click for Photos", and if you click, it will take you to the index/thumbnail gallery page for that feature, with all the photos. So far, not only the best way I've came up with for BLOBs, but also for one:many photos in Flex. In case this gives you some ideas, R_

I have a feature service that I am adding to my content in my Organizational Account. I am going to add item> on the web> "Entered my URL"> added my username and password> Store Credentials with service item. After I have done this it adds the item but, when I go to view the service from AGO Map it says "The layer, ******, cannot be added to the map" So I went back and deleted the service from my content and added the service without selecting "Stored Credentials with service item" and then it worked but I had to input my username and password when I opened the AGO Map. I would prefer to have the username and password stored in my account so that my users wouldn't have to input the username and password from server each time they opened the map. I am using a trial subscription to AGO for Organization, don't know if that has something to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Alex

I see what you're saying, I forgot to add that I had the aerial set to true, that way one basemap layer loads on start up. My bad thanks for the clarification.

If you look at my code I have visibility set to false that way it is not turned on at start up. Follow Robert's post if you want it ordered further down on the list.
