Steve, It doesn't appear to be attached but I didn't see any upload error. I'm having trouble. I did upload this to GeoNet as well, but not sure where that is or where it goes. I tried emailing the xml but that got kicked back. [invalid e-mail redacted - VJA] Doug

Anyone ever get this attempting to import an xml file into a fgdb? I'm using x-ray for geodatabase tools within arcCatalog. I've created my xml file and have validated the file. no errors were reported relating to geometry issues. I have applied my spatial reference and then ran the xml to gdb command. My output stops after a series of parcel fabrics tables were loaded, then it appears to fail.

I need to re-establish a relationship class from an existing one I currently have in an oracle gdb. I am moving to sql server gdb and would prefer to have all components in one feature dataset; the feature class, table and relationship class. Previously in our oracle gdb all these were located in the root gdb not in a feature dataset which is not the preferred approach we would like to take. I have a couple issues I cannot resolve. I cannot move/copy/import my table into the feature dataset. I get a Paste Failed message: "The operation is not supported in this implementation". If I leave the table i nthe root of the gdb I can still create a relationship class either in the root gdb or in the feature dataset, however the relationship classs empty. I have duplicated all relationship specs from my previous relationship i maintained in oracle gdb and return zero related records. I seem to be overlooking something or am implementing this wrong. Can anyone help or provide some insight or direction. thanks Doug Rulison

I receive a "spatial references do not match" error message when importing feature classes from a feature dataset in a fgdb into a new empty feature dataset in sql server. 3 of my 15 feature classes do not import and return this error. I tried first to copy/paste then went to the import. Again, it worked on many in the dataset and only 3 do not import. This is where I am confused on the error message. All features within the dataset will have the same spatial reference. I've double checked my coordinate systems and they match as one would expect since many of the features already imported with no errors. I've also queried for and did a manual selection to find any objects with no shape values or empty lengths in arcmap and I've also searched for records that were outside of the spatial envelope. No luck. I'm looking for ideas as to what I can check next. thanks, Doug

Tim, what do you mean when you say "rolled back"? I can reinstall 3.1 but will my services still work? How will the web apps respond? Can you provide the steps you went through please? thanks, Doug

I recently upgraded to silverlight 3.2 and have noticed my web apps no longer zoom to the largest scale needed 1:30ft. I can only go so far as the basemap cached zoom level. This was working in 3.1 but now I recieve an error message on one of my behaviors (see attachment). I receive this when I am in the silverlight builder as well as viewing form the browser. I'm using IE and this error message is returned on all version of IE I've tried. I've tried turning on the compatability view as others have suggested. I've reloaded the tool "Map scale setting" but I am not able to configure it. Any ideas? I've attached another error message I receive and think is related but I a mnot sure. This error happens when I try and zoom/pan or even select the bookmarks tool. Any suggestion or ideas? thanks Doug

Maybe this is a problem with all browsers. Doug Hello, I have errors running this viewer with Google Chrome Versión 31.0.1650.63 m, the toolbat donpt appear, and a lot of errors appear both in the Application Builder, and in the Viewer. Only with IE work well. Thanks

It was a firewall issue. Seeting needed to accomodate the expanding IP addresses used by esri. once that was resolved the print service was working. Of course this only happens when you are using the esri basmeaps from arcgisonline.

The attached images are three parts of the same error message. There appears to be 2 seperate issues in the message, however, the proxy error message is new this morning. The one I'm most interested in resolving is the error about connecting to the arcgisonline map server (part 1). That was the original error message I received and prevented any printing. Not sure why this is a problem because I can connect to this outside of this web app. And why wouldn't it print all the other data and leave out the basemap? I've followed the instructions from the ArcGIS help documentation and viewed a webinar on printing using ArcGIS for Server and i thought I had everything set up correctly (seems pretty straightforward). Obviously not. I hope I'm just overlooking something but I have attempted everything I know to try. Any help or advice? thanks Doug

We've run into this problem a couple times now during testing. After several users have launched the web application and we go back to doing desktop work we run into a couple errors (see screen shot) and the other error message is "have exceeded the maximum number of connections". If someone was alreay using a database connection they could still work but no additional data connections coule be made. Also, we could still use the web app and all data displays without problems. I've checked with our dba and he says we are not eve nclose to exceeding our db connection limit. So what gives? Is there a setting in ArcServer that will reduce or eliminate the number of database connections? Is this an SDE issue or an ArcServer issue? Doug

From within ArcCatalog I am unable to make a GIS server connection to view my services. I can get access to them through the server manager but not from my desktop environment. The server is up and running. I can view my web app on the server (locally) but as soon as i try and get to the server or web app I get this error message. Any ideas? thanks, Doug

My feature labels are not displaying in Silverlight viewer but I can see them in the Service Editor preview window. There is a caveat to this statement however so let me explain. My mxd is set up with many feature classes all having labels displayed by scale. My labels are set in my mxd file and are displayed correctly in the Service Editor preview window with no problem. I am publishing using the feature service. What I notice is that I can load this service two different ways and I'm not sure one is better or more correct than the other. Any info on this would be appreciated. But I can load the overall (mxd) service into Silverlight viewer and the feature classes are not configurable but the labels are there. Or, I can load each feature class as a feature service and I get no labels. Any reason for this? I would prefer to load them all in as one feature service and have the "grouped feature" look and feel but I do not like the fact that they are not individually configurable so I choose to load them as independent feature services so i can configure each on its own. I need a hybrid solution. Any ideas? thanks, Doug

I have a very detailed mxd I am trying to publish at very large scales. By detailed I mean treatment plant configuration that shows all the different appurtenances on the piping. I need to scale down to 1:30 or similar and don't really need more than 1:20,000. It seems the basemaps provided (Bing/Google) limit my zoom scales at 1:200. I can't go beyond that. It is not enough detail for our mapping purposes. Is there a way around the Bing/Google basemaps because I do have aerial photos I can use if needed. Or is there something in my Service editor parameters I am missing to set. When I get to the map caching section within the editor window I can shoose between dynamic and cached but all other parameters are greyed out. In the advanced cache window the scales shown are not what I would like to use but I cannot modify them or add my larger scales. Shouldn't the dynamic setting allow me to zoom to a very large or small scale regardless of caching? thanks in advance, Doug

I have recently installed and configured ArcGIS Server 10.1. I also upgraded my arcGIS desktop to 10.1, it is an arcview license (not sure if this may be the cause). I took an mxd file and published as a service, successfully. However the service did not start and reports and error. ERROR: service failed to start, ServiceStarter thread timeout The message says to go to the server connection (I assume in ArcCatalog) and start the published service manually. I right-click the service and hit start. Again, same error. ERROR: service failed to start, ServiceStarter thread timeout What is the service starter? Am I forgetting to configure something? I'm stumped. Doug
